Who was in your group? What was it like working with this group?
My partner was John Contreras. It wasn't easy being in this group because I did all the work by myself, since my partner got distracted with other things. All the objects you see in the above pictures are created by me, like the little utensils, cups and candle.
What did you make in this project? What are a few things you learned?
In this project, I had to re-create a table from an original model. The original model was just a folded up piece of paper made into the shape of a table. I re-created the table into the Finch's dining table. I used foam core to create the base and the legs and hot glued them together. I created the little utensils, cups and candle flame out of card-stock by cutting it with an X-acto knife. The plates were made out of foam core just like the candle base. The little pieces of food was made out of bits of different colored erasers. I learned that it takes a lot of patience to make exquisite work and to create small details. Also I was able to improve my dining table over time.
What went well in this project?
What went well was that I had good time management in getting my dining table done. I even finished my table then decided that I should add more detail and make it a dining table.
What struggles did you have and how did you overcome them?
A struggle I had was that my partner wasn't helping me or doing much to contribute to this project. I overcame them by trying to do my best when I was working by myself.
What things did you do well concerning work ethic and what could you improve on?
Things I did well was that I talked to other students to have them critique my work so I could make it the best it could be. I think I could've improved on the table itself since the foam core was uneven and I could've added chairs for a complete dining table.
How would you change this project?
If I could change this project, I would've chosen a different partner that helped me with the project instead of getting distracted by his/her surroundings.
