Literary Roller Coaster - Physics
In this project, we had to create roller coasters based on the book To Kill A Mockingbird. We had to choose a character from the book and make the roller coaster about them. My group chose Scout and named it Scout's "Easy" Route. We worked in groups of three, so my group included Zoha, Ricky, and myself. It was somewhat difficult to work with my group since Ricky didn't help much. I worked well with Zoha, and split the work evenly with her. With Ricky, I had to tell him to do a simple task repeatedly and he wouldn't do it. During this project, I helped build the base and all the elements on the roller coaster. I learned how to manage my time efficiently to create exquisite work and I learned more about empathy. Creating the elements was one thing that went well in this project. One struggle I had was that Ricky didn't do what Zoha and I told him to do. We had to tell him repeatedly to find a tool or find some construction paper. We ended up getting it ourselves and decided that we couldn't control him. So we did the work ourselves and let him do other things, but sometimes he would come and help. Some things I did well was communicating with other groups when they had something we needed, and working productively on the roller coaster. One thing I could improve on is communicating with my own group, since I was getting frustrated with Ricky a lot. I think I could've communicated with him a lot better. I would change this project by adding more time to work time because it was very stressful to work on elements and other homework in a span of two weeks.
