Who was in your group? What was it like working with this group?
My group members were Zoha and Ricky. It was really easy working with this group because we were very cooperative and compatible. We divided up the work evenly so each of us had a job for us to do.
What did you make in this project? What are a few things you learned?
In this project, I created a poem about the roller coaster.
"One always has fears
One of their fears is to overcome them
Shooting off into the darkness
Where your fear lies before you,
But you know you overcome them when you see the light
Up and up and up you go
On the roller coaster of life
Scared to see what's over the hill
Butterflies in your stomach
Then down, down, down you go
Twists and turns on the roller coaster of life
Up and down, left and right
Being whipped around on the bumpy road
One more drop, slow to a stop
Getting to your goal, finally escaping the cart"
From this poem, I learned that poems don't always have to rhyme. I think there's more meaning in a poem that doesn't rhyme. In my opinion, rhyming poems can be humorous.
What went well in this project?
My group worked diligently to create our project on time. We managed our time very well and communicated with each other to get the job done.
What struggles did you have and how did you overcome them?
I was having trouble with writing the poem. I didn't know how it should've gone, but then I realized that I need to base it on the roller coaster. Since I went on the roller coaster at Belmont Park, I could remember the roller coaster movements very clearly. In my poem, it states exactly how the roller coaster goes.
What things did you do well concerning work ethic and what could you improve on?
Our group had great communication, distributing the work evenly so we could get each job done. After we finished our task, we came together and critiqued each others work to make it the best it could be. I think we could've improved on being together as a group when we completed these tasks just in case we needed input about our job.
How would you change this project?
I think we could have had a better art piece. Our art piece was a powerpoint connecting the roller coaster sketch and the poem. I think we could've actually created an art piece that was very creative and thoughtful.
