Peaceful & Happy
Driving Question: How would you convey who you are solely through literary devices?
The goal of the project was to convey ourselves through literary devices. We had to think about events in our lives that fit with the literary devices of theme, foreshadowing, antagonist, protagonist, flashback and a few more. I wrote a paragraph for each one, describing in detail the events in my life that relate to each of the literary devices. The next step was to make the text physically appealing to put on the poster along with pictures. I titled my poster "Peaceful & Happy" to go along with my personality, which is peaceful and happy. I also chose two of my favorite colors to serve as the backgrounds for the paragraphs and pictures.
About Yourself:
1. What is the most important thing you learned in this project?
I learned much about myself during this project that I never really thought of before. It made me really think about my life and what I have done and haven't done. It was very interesting for me to look back at my life to think of different events.
2. What do you wish you had spent more time on or done differently?
I wish that I made the pictures a little smaller because I had more pictures that I wanted to put on there, but I couldn't because I didn't have enough space. I had pictures of my brothers and I was sad that I wasn't able to put them on there, but I worked with what I had.
3. What part of the project did you do your best work on?
I think I did my best work in my writing and organizing of the poster. I feel my poster is simple and easy to follow, and that my writing is engaging enough to gain the audiences attention.
About the Project:
4. What was the most enjoyable part of this project?
I enjoyed putting together the poster because I like being creative and doing hands-on work. I liked coming up with ways to design my poster and figuring out where everything should go.
5. What was the least enjoyable part of this project?
The least enjoyable part was thinking of different events in my life that could go with the literary devices. It made me think a lot about myself and most of the time I came up with nothing in mind. Eventually, I was able to come up with some ideas, but it was very difficult to think about myself.
6. How could your teacher(s) change this project to make it better next time?
I think it would've been better if we had more class time to work on the poster. I was really stressed about the project when I had to take it home and work on it for hours on end because I didn't have the right scissors or glue. I did the best I could with the materials I had, but I feel if we had more time, I could've improved even more.
