Our first and only project in Spanish class was an individual project revolving around us. For the first part of the project, we had to write a paragraph about ourselves in English and translate it into Spanish. Each student had to record themselves reading the translated paragraph out loud. This was the first draft of our paragraphs. To view the recording, click the link below.
Next, we had to take a picture of ourselves demonstrating our personality and what we enjoy doing. As is shown, my picture is of me doing a back bend on a stand up paddle board in Oceanside Harbor. I decided to do a back bend to show that I like being active and I am on a paddle board because I enjoy paddle boarding
We revised our Spanish paragraph, adjusting our wording and grammar. Again, we recorded ourselves reading the paragraph to see if our pronunciation and sentences improved. To view my video, click the link below.
Reflection
My Spanish speaking skills have improved a lot from what I had already known before. I grew up around Spanish speakers so I knew a little bit of Spanish, but this class has improved my speaking skills. I had no idea how to write in Spanish when I first came into this class, but I have noticed that my writing skills have been improved a lot. From not knowing how to write to where I'm at now, I feel I definitely learned something from this class whether it was learning how to spell, write accents or form sentences. I think my confidence has changed a little bit, I do feel a little more confident about writing and speaking Spanish. However, I feel I am not as confident as I should be and I'm working on it. By practicing more and more I think I can become as confident as I possibly can.
